From solar and wind power, to geothermal and small hydropower and from bioenergy to fuel cells and hydrogen technologies, everywhere in the world there is plenty of energy potential available that is constantly renewed and not exhausted. The maximum and economically competitive exploitation of renewable energy potential is not only our obligation towards the environment and the planet, but also a huge scientific, technological, and economic challenge for the present and the immediate future. The market for RES systems and technologies is growing rapidly everywhere in the world. The MSc Renewable Energy Engineering helps you develop knowledge, abilities and skills in the analysis, design and implementation of Renewable Energy Systems, such as photovoltaic systems, wind farms, technologies and devices for the utilization of geothermal energy and biomass, small hydroelectric plants, etc. At the same time, it helps you understand the ways and challenges of integrating RES in the wider power generation system and introduces you to more modern fields, such as hybrid and energy storage systems. Also, the programme offers adequate knowledge of energy economics, mainly in the form of methods and tools for evaluating small-scale energy investments. Optionally, you can specialise in fields such as the rational management of energy in the building stock, the maintenance of RES units or hydrogen technologies. Members of the Advisory Board of the programme are the main bodies of the sector in Greece: Hellenic Wind Energy Association, Hellenic Small Hydropower Association, Hellenic Biomass Association, etc
