Collection and processing of personal data
The website publishes contact forms in which users can enter data at their own risk. However, this data is not “sensitive” (article 2, paragraph b, Law 2472/1997), as it does not concern racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health, social welfare and sexual life, criminal prosecutions or convictions, as well as participation in associations of persons related to the above.
The “processing of personal data” (Article 2, paragraph d, Law 2472/1997) of the “data subjects” (Article 2, paragraph c, Law 2472/1997) is carried out by the person registered as the “data controller” (Article 2, paragraph g, Law 2472/1997) of such data.
The above personal data are not transmitted or communicated to third parties (article 7A par. e § 1). The processing of the data is confidential (article 10 § 1 of Law 2472/1997) and concerns the provision of legal services to potential clients of the controller (article 7A par. e § 1 of Law 2472/1997). The “data subject” may have access to the data collected through the forms of the website, upon his request, which can be submitted through the contact form of the website (article 11 § 1 of Law 2472/1997). Objections are addressed in writing to the controller and must contain a request for specific action, such as correction, temporary non-use, blocking, non-transmission or deletion (article 13 of Law 2472/1997).
The person registered as the “controller” of personal data is exempted from the obligation to notify in writing to the Personal Data Protection Authority, hereinafter referred to as “the Authority”, of the establishment and operation of the file and the commencement of processing under article 6 of the same law and from the obligation to obtain permission under article 7 of the same law (article 7A, paragraph e, § 1 of Law 2472/1997).
The “consent” of the “data subjects” for the “processing” of their data is obtained by completing the relevant form. In particular, in order to be able to submit the form, the “data subject” is obliged to a) reach the end of the scroll bar of an easily readable field, which displays the website’s privacy policy and information regarding the processing of his/her data and b) then, after being certain that he/she has been informed about the processing of his/her data, check the acceptance box (article 2 par. k of Law 2472/1997, articles 1 § 4 and 3 § 4 of Directive 2/2011 with protocol number G/EX/2994/29-4-2011 of the Authority). The “data subject” may at any time withdraw his/her consent to the processing of his/her data, using the website’s contact form. The withdrawal of his/her consent does not have retroactive effect.
