The MA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is aimed at new graduates or active teachers, who wish to be employed as teachers or to develop their knowledge in matters related to the teaching of the English Language in Greece and abroad. Specifically, it develops students’ knowledge of theoretical and applied linguistics, understanding of the second/foreign language learning process, teacher response to different environments and different student populations, and provides a critical insight into contemporary methodologies in teaching English as a second/foreign language. Students will develop skills necessary for the modern professional such as the creation of digital educational materials, distance learning, as well as research skills. In addition, issues of diversity, special learning needs and the use of technology in education occupy an important place in the program. With the guidance of the professors, they undertake the preparation of a diploma thesis or teaching project, which allows further specialization. Theoretical training is enriched with optional practical training in cooperating educational structures.
