The BA (Hons) Business Management is a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) accredited course developed by the UK University of Derby, a TOP-20 UK University for Teaching Quality and Student Satisfaction in Business & Management (Guardian & Times University Guides 2024). This means that you’ll gain an extra professional qualification (the CMI Diploma) on top of your degree, plus professional mentoring and access to CMI member benefits. In this course, you’ll learn about organisations, their management and the global environments in which they operate. You’ll learn new ways of thinking as well as a host of practical skills. And you’ll be challenged to apply these to real-world business and management scenarios through projects, placements and internships. After your first year, you can continue on the Business Management course, or you can choose one of our pathways: Marketing, Finance, HRM, Supply Chain & Logistics, Shipping. Key growth areas and hot topics, including responsible management, business analytics, digital media, innovation and globalisation, are covered. In your final year, you will undertake a Business Consultancy Project, where you apply project management and research skills to solve a real problem for a business.
